I have known the Reclaim Health India team for some time. I have been interacting with most of them on Twitter and elsewhere. --> They have good knowledge about the Low Carb Diet, especially in the Indian context, which is mostly a plant based country. They can help both the vegetarian & the meat eating population with ease. With India being a capital of diabetes & other metabolic disorders, a Low Carb approach will help immensely. I wish the team a successful time ahead helping to improve the Metabolic status in India. All the best Shashi, Mishal, Siddhesh & Aashish.
Shashikant Iyengar and the Reclaim Health India Team are a trusted resource in the low-carb and keto nutrition community. They have broad experience in helping people lose weight and improve an array of health concerns, such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and related issues. Although I can work with people internationally, I have referred numerous people to them specifically in India, as I think it's important for people to work with someone a little closer to home when possible. This group is well-versed in supporting vegetarians (as well as meat eaters) who want to follow low-carb diets, and I'm glad to have knowledgeable professionals to refer people to for this. I know that when people work with them, they will get science-based advice that's practical and doable, without false claims and sensationalism. I wish the Reclaim Health India team -- Shashi, Mishal, Siddhesh, and Ashish -- the best for their venture.
I have observed the efforts of Shashi over the last few years to raise the awareness and promote the benefits of #LowCarb (Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction - TCR) to his local and wider Indian community.--> The benefits of TCR are indisputable in improving outcomes in Type 2 diabetes, and for those with the right education, support and resources, putting it into remission. There are certain hurdles to overcome in achieving this in all societies, and Shashi has been able to achieve this. "Wishing the team of Shashi , Mishal, Siddhesh & Aashish of Reclaim Health India a successful journey in improving Metabolic Syndrome in India.
Pioneers like Shashi, Mishal, Siddhesh & Ashish of Reclaim Health India are going to confront the growing crisis of Type 2 Diabetes & Mental Illnesses in India No small feat.. Only brave heroes embark on such an audacious journey & only they will change the world.

He HbA1c was 7.1 with 62 units of Insulins, Metformin, Sulphonylurea, SGLT2i and Dpp4i and now 6.4 with just dpp4i & metformin. There was an improvement seen in his eGFR and also a small reduction in serum creatinine level. Total 12 kgs lost in 4 months. High energy felt and 1 more big benefit was getting off more that 2 decades of PPI drug (anti acidity drug) His chronic back pain disappeared. There was a greater balance and stability in walking. Mrs. Padmavati was suffering for Age Related Macular Disorder (AMD) This eye disorder is a progressive one which leads to partial or total vision loss. It is documented that a high glycemic diet & use of Refined omega6 seed oils maybe a causative factor for AMD. On investigation we found that her HbA1c was 6.7, fasting Insulin 21 and PP insulin 138. She was put on a low carb vegetarian diet. After 3 months her labs were as follows. HbA1c was 5.6 & Fasting Insulin was 1. Her BP also which was at 188/100 came to 130/80 Her opthalmologist told her that her eye sight is stable and that she need not come for follow up every month. Instead come for an annual check-up. She is now more energetic and walks 5 kms a day
I started training with Siddhesh a couple of months ago, after hitting a plateau in my weight loss. I was impressed by his knowledge and ability to quickly design a program to fit my goals. I have been able to make progress in form, stability, and strength during the course of training. As for results, I have broken out of the plateau and am currently loosing fat while gaining muscle which is the best result I could expect. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking to get fitter to get on Siddhesh’s diet and training program.
Neeti was suffering from obesity since school. She was always told that its in her “genes” and she will always be “obese” no matter what she does. Apart from obesity she was also suffering from depression. She was put on a Ketogenic diet and results stated showing. From 104kgs we managed to get her weight down to 74 kgs with diet alone.
Vishal had unusually high levels of triglycerides, over 400, and high uric acid levels. Being a meat eater, the blame was put on meat while ignoring the elephant in the room i.e Alcohol and refined carbohydrates. After extensive counselling he was put on an animal based Ketogenic diet and his triglycerides went below 100 in 15 days. His uric acid levels normalized in 3 months to everyone’s surprise.I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking to get fitter to get on Siddhesh’s diet and training program.
Mishal, I would like to thank you for the guidance and support over the last month. It has been a rewarding journey. I have enjoyed all our interactions and appreciate the way you empathize and understand the limitations that I have to work around with. Your inputs have helped me with my low carb journey (never realized it would be a breeze with minimal changes). The focus on protein and fat have helped me remain satiated through the day - off with sugar cravings :) Thank you again.
Thank you very much Mishal for guiding me through a wonderful journey filled with lots of benefits that I would not have realized without you. Your constant support, guidance, and consistent health monitoring has helped me achieve the numbers from Fasting 269 and PPBS of 370 down to normal is simply mesmerizing. Your approach of explaining the body functioning and how each food style affects the body mechanism simply enabled me to smoothly adopt low carb. I really thank you from the depth of my heart for all the support, help, guidance, and mentoring you provided during the course.
Hi Mishal - Starting with tons of gratitude. I wanted to lose weight but I have no time to workout or do the gym. The only way I would lose weight was through a proper diet and you taught me the right procedure of how to diet. In this journey you have been one important person without whom this would have not been possible. Your plan and motivation made it all so easy for me, Mishal you are more of a friend. I express my gratitude towards you for all that you do and the most important - Empathy driven motivation and encouragement !!!. Keep this going !!!
Sajal came to me with uncontrolled resistant hypertension (Blood pressure). He was on 4 drugs and still his BP was 160/95 He was put on a non-veg ketogenic diet. Within 3 months he was off all 4 drugs. He was on Telmisartan 80mg, Chlorthalidone 6.5, Amlodipine 5mg and Bisoprolol 5mg. His creatinine was also raised at 1mg/dl. At the end of 3 months he was weaned off all 4 drugs with a BP of 120/68. Till today he is well controlled with no meds and on a relaxed low carb diet.
I have worked with Shashi for the past 3 months and he led me to believe and see for myself that LCHF diet can be miraculous. Through weekly zoom sessions, he gave me all possible guidance on what I should & should not include in my ‘low carb’ diet. We tracked & monitored my progress every week. Food recipes, ideal low carb foods, foods to completely do away with, the dumbest of doubts were addressed by Shashi. Time zone difference did not matter as I am based in Canada, as Shashi was very flexible & available when I needed his guidance. I am eternally grateful to Shashi to guide me on the LCHF diet path & I could get by HBA1C miraculous ly down from 9.4 to 5.7 in just 3.5 months.
